Once upon a time, there was a farmer who owned a lazy donkey named Ben. Ben alwaysfunny short moral story
tried to avoid work. He would find ways to slack off, and the farmer was getting tired of
Ben's laziness.
One hot day, the farmer loaded a heavy sack of salt onto Ben's back, and they set off to the
market. As they crossed a river, Ben stumbled and fell into the water. The salt dissolved, and
when Ben stood up, he realized his load was much lighter. Ben was delighted and thought,
What a brilliant trick! I’ll do this every time.
The next day, the farmer loaded bags of sponges onto Ben's back. As they reached the river,
Ben again "accidentally" fell into the water, expecting his load to become lighter. But to his
surprise, the sponges absorbed water and became much heavier. Struggling, Ben learned his
lesson the hard way.
From then on, Ben worked hard and stopped trying to shirk his duties. The farmer was
pleased, and Ben was no longer a lazy donkey.
Moral of the story: Laziness often leads to more work in the end.
